1. Can mini kegs be recycled / re-used?

Our mini kegs can not be re-filled or re-used but they can be placed in your recycling bin to be recycled.

2. Do mini kegs need a tap?

Our black mini kegs and CO2 mini kegs have built in taps so you do not need to buy anything to use these kegs. There are however, optional accessories available to enhance your drinking experience, for example the Party Star Deluxe Tap can be used with the black mini kegs. Our Talos mini kegs require a Talos Top Pump or a Talos Beer Dispense Unit.

3. Do mini kegs stay cold?

Mini kegs will stay cold for a short period as they will naturally warm up when placed in ambient temperatures.

4. Do mini kegs need to be refrigerated?

Yes, mini kegs need to be chilled down to the correct temperature as per the mini keg instructions (around 4 degrees) before use. If the keg is not at the correct temperature before pouring, this can cause the beer to pour like foam.

5. Do mini kegs need to settle?

If your mini kegs have been stored on their side in your fridge, before pouring, stand upright and leave for 5 minutes to allow the CO2 to settle before pouring.

6. How much are mini kegs?

Our black mini kegs range from £25 – £28, our silver CO2 mini kegs range from £30 – £33 and our Talos mini kegs range from £15- £28

7. How long do mini kegs last unopened?

Black Mini Kegs – we recommend opening within 5 days of receiving them for optimum freshness and consuming within 24 hours. Any longer and the quality of the beer declines. If you are placing these in a beer machine, the machine will enhance their life longer. We still suggest placing within your beer machine within 5 days of receiving the keg and then once in your machine, they can last up to two – three weeks once opened.

Silver CO2 Mini Kegs – we recommend opening within 5 days of receiving them. As these kegs contain a built in CO2 bulb, this can allow the keg to last a little longer unopened as the CO2 injects life into the beer. Once opened we suggest consuming within 2 – 3 days.

T Mini Kegs – our Talos mini kegs can last around 7 – 10 days unopened and then once opened they can be consumed within 2 x weeks.

8. How do mini kegs work?

Black mini kegs – these have a built in tap which pulls out from the bottom of the keg which you twist to pour. Full instructions are on the side of the keg. Alternatively, if you have a beer dispense machine, you can place within your machine to pour. Please note, they will not fit all machines, please contact us to check before purchasing.

Silver CO2 mini kegs – these have a built in CO2 bulb within the lid. Simply, activate the CO2 by turning the lever as per the instructions on the keg and pull out the tap to pour. These mini kegs will not fit any beer dispense machine.

T Mini Kegs – these mini kegs will work with their dedicated top pump or their beer dispense base unit. They can be placed back in the fridge in between pours to keep chilled as they have a non return valve which stops the beer from escaping the keg.

9. Do we send empty mini kegs back?

No, we do not accept returned empty mini kegs but you can put them in your recycling bin to be recycled.
